The following is a biblical testing warning you about AW Tozer theology and his books/teachings.
There is no doubt Tozer had truth in his teachings but for the following reasons, I would warn you against taking in his teachings as he was into heresy and various false ways.
Per Apostle Paul we are to mark and avoid men who go into error:
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Romans 16:17

1) Tozer had a confused gospel. On one hand; he understood free will, repentance and enduring in the faith but; he also was soft on sin and believed in experiential theology and knowing God via His presence.
See his quote below:
“I refer to the evangelical mystic who has been brought by the gospel into intimate fellowship with the Godhead…. He differs from the ordinary orthodox Christian only because he experiences his faith down in the depths of his sentient being while the other does not. He exists in a world of spiritual reality. He is quietly, deeply and sometimes almost ecstatically aware of the presence of God in his own nature and in the world around him.”
This is VERY troubling.....if you desire to OBEY God, not man!
2) He was an evangelical who kept the common but sinful man made ways in that denomination that both added and took away from God's Word. Tozer was keeping pagan holidays as Christmas / Easter as he was keeping the false ritual system of a Sunday denomination vs God's design and truth for His body.

3) Tozer was DEEP into the mystic writings and he often quoted, read and promoted many heretical false mystics; including Roman Catholics.

How can this be true of a godly biblical man I would ask you? It is the way of a deceiver not a solid biblical teacher.

It is known that Tozer like a book called Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. Lawrence was a roman catholic mystic monk full of many heresies yet Tozer liked his writings.

“Again, he [the unknown author of The Cloud of Unknowing] recommends that in prayer we practice a further stripping down of everything, even of our theology.”
No where does God's Word EVER promote us letting go of doctrinal truth or theology to pray! This is rank heresy....

Madame Guyon, George Fox, Soren Kierkegaard, and Meister Eckhart.
It must be noted that Tozer back in the 1930-60's he led the way for the heretical contemplative prayer and mystic ways of the emergent church groups that exploded and we see all over today in America and the world.
In the end, Tozer was not biblical as he kept false religious ways that Jesus said voided your worship of God.
